course description

We've given our ever-popular Introduction to Green Roofs course a twist by adding a hands on workshop to the afternoon.

Green roofs play a significant role in sustainable and green construction. Moreover, because they are often highly visible, they signal intent for sustainable building and can give a very positive impression about the occupants' green credentials.

The Green Roof Centre's Manager Jeff Sorrill will deliver the morning presentation, discussing the variety of benefits green roofs offer.

In the afternoon delegates get an opportunity to apply the morning's learning into practical application. The session will include  a tour of the site's green roofs (and living walls) led by Chris Palmer. The focus will be on the logistics of green roof installation, including common mistakes, and money saving tips, establishment and long term management. Then delegates are encouraged to get their hands dirty and tackle key stages of installation on a  mini green roof.
